    The Honda EM1 e:'s name comprises three important points. First the "EM" stands for "electric moped", "1" indicates that it is Honda's first electric moped, and "e:" designates it as part of Honda's e-mobility range.
    The letters EM stand for Electric Moped, because that’s effectively what it is. It’s also the first Honda two-wheeler to make use of the new, swappable Honda Mobile Power Pack e: system (HMPP) for the European market. If you think back to EICMA 2022, you may recall that’s when Honda first took the wraps off the EM1 e: for a global audience.
    Intended as a short-range urban electric scooter (e-bike), there EM-1 has short travel range of 40 km from its single battery. Calling it a Mobile Power Pack (MPP), the battery is swappable with Honda showing its e:Technology battery swapping station at the show.
    If more storage space is required, Honda has a 35-litre top box available as an add-on. The official launch of the bike comes after Honda's commitment in September 2022 to produce at least 10 different electric powered two-wheeler (PTW) models by 2025. Honda has not yet announced a launch date for the EM1 e:, or when it might arrive in dealers.
