The gnupg module is derived from Steve Traugott’s module (the original site no longer exists - this link is to the Wayback Machine), and uses Python’s subprocess module to communicate with the GnuPG executable, which it uses to spawn a subprocess to do the real work. New in version 0.4.6: Instances of the GPG class now have an additional error_map attribute, which defaults to None. If you set this, the value should be a dictionary mapping error codes to error messages. The source distribution includes a file messages.json which contains such a mapping, gleaned from the GnuPG library libgpg-error, version 1.37.
