If you want a phone for a kid who drops phones, gets them wet, and basically abuses the snot out of a phone, this is the phone for you!
I actually bought this one because it does not have a camera, and I sometimes go to a customer that does not allow cameras in the building (but does allow cell phones, go figure).
Anyway, I have 2 other of these phones, and one of them has no back, has no keyboard (or the kid has some sort of problem with the keyboard that I have not had time to figure out yet), often is used without the front part of the case - but it just keeps on working! (We have 3 of these phones (the other 2 are in good to great condition), in addition to a Palm Treo, a Moto Razr, and a Blackberry. We have had a Razr break, the Blackberry's SIM holder broke off, and my Treo sometimes has trouble seeing the tower. These Nokias are hard to 'turn in to a brick'.)
I will have to say that the reason for removal of the keyboard by the kid is reported to be that texting doesn't work with the keyboard, but we'll see.
Bottom line: Very rugged basic phone, and cheap to boot. Great for those times you don't want to take an expensive smartphone somewhere, or for when you have a phone user who abuses phones. I'm actually considering getting a 4th to have one more backup phone!
Background on us and our phone use/profile:
5 of us in the family, 4 of whom have phones. Our plan includes unlimited texting but no internet. I primarily use Palm Treo so I don't have to have a PDA AND a phone. I got the Nokia to use when I go to the customer, and in case something happens to my Treo. My wife uses a Moto Razr, doing a little texting and a fair amount of voice calls. Oldest son sends over 4,000 texts a month and does voice calls - his primary (only) phone is one of our 3 Nokia 3120 (one with no damage). Middle son was using the highly damaged Nokia as his primary phone (he plays football and in addition is not very good at taking care of phones) until I managed to get the Blackberry SIM card to stay in. Now he takes the Nokia when he doesn't want to risk the Blackberry.
